October 29th- "The Tragedy of the Commons"

No Mental Math today because we were running behind on schedule due to Mr.Maksymchuk's tardiness. Because nobody scribed for yeserday, the lesson learned is that you as an individual should take initiative to do something for the greater good. Including being the scribe on a day that it is not your turn to be the scribe. To help us understand this we are to compose an essay with a thesis of the following:
"Relate the events of October 28th 2008 in Block 4 Applied Math to the contents of the famous article "The Tragedy of the Commons" by Garrett Hardin. Use specific references to individual responsibility within the frameworkof the greater good."

The essay is due for Monday, November 3rd. The essay is to be 250-500 words in length. Be sure to cite your contents appropriately in your bibliography.

A link to the article is the folowing:

We went over the question assigned for homework yesterday. The answer to the question was 12/35. We also did notes and learned about the fundamental counting principles. We used an excellent example involving food, especially creme brulee!

The home work for tommorrow is page D5 Exercise #2 Questions 4,6,9 and 5 if you think you can.

The images and video will be folllowed after this post.
